We've been to the Spring Show at Harrogate in the showground near the town but we'd not been to Newby Hall for a show previously.
It proved to be a good day. The show itself was good and the hall attractions were open to visit. We went on the mini steam train, the boat on the river and of course, visited the hall gardens themselves.
In the grounds of Newby Hall is a bear museum which houses the Giles Brandreth collection of teddy bears etc. It includes several original bears - Sooty, Paddington, Fozzy and Pudsey to name a few.
Newby Hall itself would be worth a day visit, although it is around 2 hours travelling away.
