Keep sending in your pictures to the Members Photo Gallery and the Online Spring Show
Members enjoy listening to an expert speaker at their meeting which takes place once a month on the third Tuesday.
At the meeting information is also given about other proposed activities for members and an update on Society activity in general.
Some specific Member Benefits are listed below.
During the gardening season members can purchase compost, fertiliser and horticultural sundries at very special discounted prices.
The Depot is open every Sunday morning (except the Annual Show weekend) from February to October 10.00am to 11.30 am exclusively for members.
Update 23rd Jan 2021:
The Depot will be opening on Sunday 7th February from 10 am to 11:30 am exclusively for Members.
The depot has been fully restocked but we were not able to secure horticultural grit during the closed season because of social gathering restrictions.
All the special Professional Composts requested by members is available in store but in most cases only the required number that each individual member has ordered are available; i.e. no spares initially exist. These members are therefore urged to collect as early as possible and ideally within the first 2 weeks of opening as these and the pallet they are on is blocking the entrance area.
Please remember social distancing rules with the wearing of face masks will continue to apply with only one customer allowed in the depot at one time.
Each autumn members have the opportunity to order seeds from Mr Fothergill's catalogue at discounted prices.
In recent years this has amounted to 60% off published prices for member's orders.
A number of outings are arranged each year to horticultural venues and events. In addition, occasional other visits to events of interest such as Christmas Markets are arranged.
These outings are good value and can include free entry to an RHS garden as the Society is affiliated to the RHS.
